Japan Trip

god this is going to be so hard. if i could, "the trip was fun" would be the opening sentence to this entry followed by loads of photos. but i will not be an ass to do tt. alright, i'll at least try not to do tt.

overall, i really enjoyed the trip. mt fuji, Owakudani Valley aka Boiling Valley and disneyland were the main highlights for me. but the entire trip was dampened by 2 main things - the weather and the packed schedule. allow me to rant abit here before i go on to the more pleasant sights and sounds. so mum and i joined the ASA tourgroup tt'll bring us to osaka-kobe-kyoto-tokyo-and some other places in japan. frankly, i didnt do any research at all, places to see and buy and things to eat. heck, i couldnt really be bothered. all i did was asked abt the weather there and was told tt it'll be normal air-con temp. so we didnt really pack in much warm clothing and it didnt occur to me tt we shd at least check the net for weather conditions to be sure. and as things turned out, weather was quite bad. it was raining and the temp was like 15 over degrees most of the time. wat the hell rite. i practically had to eat-slp-play with tt one jacket i brought. but the most annoying part of it all was tt pics turned out awful. i looked as if i didnt bring a change of clothes. horrible, horrible. and after this trip, i think i've decided to hate packaged tours. the schedule is so friggin packed and most of the time we had to be rushed from one place to another. we are given abt an hr odd at a particular place, and in my opinion, tt's jus not enuff time to explore everything, the shopping areas especially. and timelines. its quite a strain to adhere to it cos u dun wan ur tour mates to give u the look for being late and at the same time u really wan to check out tt last shop. excuse me, i tot holidays are supposed to be stress-free??

anyway, not much shopping was done. too ex, too little time. so visiting the touristy areas, temples and trying the local food (sashimi!!) were enough to keep me happy, though the same couldnt be said for the long bus rides even without the traffic jams. to be frank, i feel i didnt quite experience japan fully as half the time i didnt even though where the heck i was. hah. so it'll be quite impossible for me to relate the entire trip, esp it's like 2 mths since. oh well, hope the pics spins a tale. Part 1 and Part 2 here.
